Colours in the poster THE BOAT THAT ROCKED

The colours signify the characters.

Their are 9 characters who each have their own rectangle, which shows their faces and a colour background behind them; this is different for every character

From the left:

The background is orange signifying a bright bold personality, he is wearing what looks like a brown leather jacket with an auburn fur, this gives a stereotype of him being a farther or older male as this still isn’t exactly modern.

The next square is a bright yellow, showing an eccentric personality, its foreshadows bubbly-ness, and fun, and standing out from the rest, which could signify rebellion.

the next character is infront of a deep red colour,  signifying that he could have a loving/ romantic side or even be a type of pimp.

Middle right:

a pale green, showing a more mellow layed back character, could also show age, as even though he is still rebelling, his bright youth is slowly fading.

the next colour used as a background is violet.  This could foreshadow a bright but calm character, showing a fun but serious side. Foreshadowing a spilt personality or that the character is two faced.

The 6th colour used is blue, the type of blue is bright but deep. Blue could signify his masculinity and security of his gender, portraying rebellion and using women for sex.

Next the colour is Green, almost becoming turquois, showing mellow and more relaxed personality, chilled but also has a rebellious and bubbly side to him, which he keeps in.

Also the next colour used is a very pale green, showing purity and femininity as the colour is much more mellow and a fragile type of colour, portraying the sex of the character.

Lastly the last colour is surrounded by a grey colour. Almost immediately portraying a more serious character in the film, showing blandness and also signifying age.
